Here is my Cascade Challenge. It is a small 16x21 wall hanging quilt. This fabric was designed Jessica Levitt, a member of the CNJMQG. I like her fabric line very much. I have bought yardage to make a quilted jacket. Her patterns inspire an art deo theme, which several members used in their challenge projects. This was the third attempt at my project idea. It was not what I envisioned, but I realize pattern designing is time consuming and something I did not have for this challenge.

I went to the NJ Quilt Fest. It was my first quilt to see. My quilt guild displayed modern quilts from its members. My pinwheel quilt was displayed.
Here are other quilts I liked. I don't know which collection this was from, but this quilt is mini hexagons. It was absolutely stunning.
Here is a detail view.
This was from the 50 Shades of Grey theme. It was very clever. Each block is embroidered by machine.
Most quilts are machine quilted. This one in the 50 Shades of Grey collection has Japanese quilting stitches called Shashiko.
More hand quilting from the Antique Quilt collection.
This was a cute art quilt from the Beatles Songs collection.
One last hand quilt design. I think this was from the Hoffman challenge.

Our quilt guild has started a project to make a quilt for Mott Hall Bridges Academy, a school in Brooklyn. We will make the school a wall-hanging to inspire the kids to keep working hard and reach for their dreams. Thus, we chose the flower block in purple white (their school colors!)
